What is an S7 tracker?

It is the most commonly required tracker category specified by UK insurers and replaced the older Category 6 and Category 7 classifications in 2019. Is the S7 tracker enough or do I need an S5?
For most standard vehicles the S7 is sufficient, it is the minimum standard required by UK insurers and provides genuine monitored protection with a professional recovery response. H-Track's recommendation is that if your vehicle has keyless entry, has been previously targeted or carries a high insurance risk rating you should consider the S5 which adds Automatic Driver Recognition on top of everything the S7 provides. If your insurer has specified S7 the S7 is what you need. We will always advise honestly on this before you book.

Does my S7 tracker have to be fitted by an approved installer?
Yes and this matters more than many people realise. A Thatcham approved S7 tracker fitted by an unregistered installer may not produce a certificate your insurer will accept. TASSA registration is the relevant installer certification for this category. H-Track are TASSA registered and every S7 installation comes with a valid certificate your insurer will accept without question.
Will an S7 tracker reduce my insurance premium?
